Lin is a Taiwanese import who is playing with the Brisbane Bandits during the 2017-18 ABL season. Lin comes with an interesting history as a decorated veteran of the Taiwanese CPBL. He has been playing in the CPBL since 2004, primarily with the La New Bears (later renamed to Lamigo Monkeys in 2011). He won the CPBL's MVP Award in 2015 following which he signed the CPBL's richest free agency deal in 2016 to join the Chinatrust Brothers.
Late in 2017 Lin was caught up in
controversy that saw seven of his team mates fired from the Brothers. Some see his choice to play in the ABL following the controversy as a chance to try and redeem himself from the issues back in Taiwan.
