James Albury - 2015-16 Brisbane Bandits

Albury returned to the Brisbane Bandits lineup for a single game during the 2015-16 ABL season, his first game for nearly two years. I've been unable to find out why the large gap between appearances, whether it was due to form, injury, or roster space, but whatever the cause, Albury still seems to be on the Bandits radar, making several trips with the team, even if only appearing once.

Dingo 2013-14 Brisbane Bandits - Series Two Checklist

Series Two of the Brisbane Bandits cards were released on the 1st December including three of the Tampa Bay Rays affiliated players who are playing with the Bandits for the 2013-14 ABL season.

Of note is card 053 of Aussie pitcher Rhys Niit. Both Niit's card and the checklist card mis-spell his first name as Ryhs instead of Rhys. The card designer has advised that if/when there is a second print run, the spelling error will be corrected, so a potential variation to watch out for in the future.

Here are the ten cards that make up Dingo's 2013-14 Brisbane Bandits Series Two set of cards:

Card Number: Player: (Nationality, current or past MLB affiliation)
049 James Albury  (Australia, played 2 seasons in the Boston Red Sox organisation between 2004 - 2005 and one with the Chicago White Sox in 2009)

James Albury - 2013-14 Brisbane Bandits

Albury is a Brisbane local who is returning in 2013-14 for his third season with the Brisbane Bandits. Despite his longevity in the ABL, these were my first ever photos of Albury. I chose this shot as my favourite of him - kicking back against the dug out fence whilst sharing a joke with team mates.

Albury spent two seasons playing Rookie level ball with the Boston Red Sox in 2004 and 2005, and a short stint at A level with the Chicago White Sox in 2009, as well as playing several seasons in independent leagues in the US.
