Kyle Glogoski - 2017-18 Sydney Blue Sox

Glogoski is a New Zealand born import who played with the Sydney Blue Sox during the 2017-18 ABL season. His ABL season was interrupted by his signing by the Philadelphia Phillies organisation which resulted in him leaving the Blue Sox to undertake a throwing program with the Phillies.

Given the recent announcement of the expansion of the ABL to include a New Zealand based team in 2018-19, I would presume that the New Zealand team will make signing a home grown talent like Glogoski a priority.

Delmon Young - 2017-18 Melbourne Aces

There was a bit of controversy around the Melbourne Aces signing former MLB player and number one MLB draft pick Delmon Young to their roster for the 2017-18 ABL season due to his historical disciplinary issues, however Young saw his time Down Under as a chance to try and resurrect his MLB career. He had previously played over 1100 games across six different MLB teams between 2006 and 2015. Whilst Serviceable in his time at Melbourne he was nowhere near the leaderboards in any of the ABL's batting statistics  He followed up his ABL season with a short stint with the Acereros de Monclova in the Mexican Baseball League (Liga Mexicana de Béisbol) in 2018.
