Logan Wade - 2015-16 Brisbane Bandits

Wade returned to the Brisbane Bandits during the 2015-16 ABL season, marking his fourth with the Bandits and in the ABL. He spent both the 2015 and 2016 seasons with the Minnesota Twins advanced A affiliate the Fort Myers Miracle in the Florida State League.

Daniel Nilsson - 2015-16 Adelaide Bite

Hmm ... a Nilsson not playing for Queensland?!? Dave Nilsson and his extended family have had a long history in Queensland and the Brisbane Bandits so it was surprising to see Dave's nephew Daniel sign and play with the Adelaide Bite for the 2015-16 ABL season. Daniel had previously been playing for the Redcliffe Padres in Brisbane and spent several years in Queensland's U23 squad.

Matthew Rae - 2015-16 Sydney Blue Sox

Rae returned for his fifth season with the Sydney Blue Sox during the 2015-16 ABL season and saw the most game time yet in a season yet during his ABL career.

Aaron James Thompson (Aus) - 2015-16 Canberra Cavalry

The "Australian" Aaron Thompson had to put up with the arrival of his namesake from America, resulting in two pitchers named Aaron Thompson on the Canberra Cavalry roster for the 2015-16 ABL season. The outcome was that the Aussie Thompson started being referred to as Aaron J or Aaron James. Not sure why he had to add the identifier to his name, noting that he was the "original" Aaron Thompson on the roster. The 2015-16 season was his fifth in the ABL and his thrid with the Cavalry.

Vaughan Harris - 2015-16 Sydney Blue Sox

Despite receiving only a limited number of innings to pitch, Harris was able to play his sixth year with the Sydney Blue Sox during the 2015-16 ABL season.

Colton Turner - 2015-16 Canberra Cavalry

Turner was an American import from the Toronto Blue Jays organisation who played with the Canberra Cavalry during the 2015-16 ABL season. Turner spent the majority of 2015 with the Lansing Lugnuts, the Blue jays single A level affiliate in the Midwest League. In 2016 he spent time back with the the Lugnuts as well as with the Blue Jays Advanced and Double teams, before being traded to the Chicago White Sox and playing for the Brimingham Barons - also at Double A level.

Ernesto Zaragoza - 2015-16 Brisbane Bandits

Zaragoza is an American import who played with the Brisbane Bandits during the 2015-16 ABL season. He had previously spent two years playing rookie level ball with the Seattle Mariners (2011-2012), before playing independent ball in 2014 and 2015, with the Roswell Invaders (pecos League) and Washington Wild Things (Frontier League).

Devon Barker - 2015-16 Adelaide Bite

Barker is an American import who played with the Adelaide bite during the 2015-16 ABL season. Barker had previously played for the Corvallis Knights in the collegiate level West Coast League where he caught the eye of Brooke Knight, the Bites' Manager.

It was a very glarey day when I was getting shots of the Bite, and all of my shots of Barker have his face obscured in shadow. This was about the best of a bad lot.

Keiji Uezono (上園 啓史) - 2015-16 Sydney Blue Sox

Uezono is a former NPB player from Japan who played with the Sydney Blue Sox during the 2015-16 ABL season. Uezono spent 7 seasons in the NPB playing with the Hanshin Tigers and the Rakutan Golden Eagles between 2007 and 2014. In 2016 he has spent time with the De Gloskoning Twins in the Dutch Major League.

Jason Sloan - 2015-16 Canberra Cavalry

I've lamented in the past that Jason Sloan is just of those players that it's difficult to get a good shot of - I have lots of photos of him, but they just never seem to turn out very good because. Sloan returned to the Canberra Cavalry in the 2015-16 ABL season, his fourth in the ABL. He was able to join his younger brother Aaron whom he convinced to rejoin the Cavalry roster for 2015-16.

Joshua Strong - 2015-16 Sydney Blue Sox

After making his debut last season, Strong returned for his second ABL season with the Sydney Blue Sox in 2015-16, moving into the starting lineup for the Blue Sox.

Sam Kennelly - 2015-16 Perth Heat

The baby Kennelly brother returned for his fourth ABL season with the Perth Heat during the 2015-16 ABL season. He spent 2015 playing rookie level ball for Pittsburgh's Gulf Coast League team.

Steven Chambers - 2015-16 Adelaide Bite

Chambers is becoming one of the journeyman of the Australian Baseball League. The 2015-16 ABL season was his sixth in the ABL, but his first with the Adelaide Bite. Chambers had spent the first 3 and a half seasons with Brisbane before moving to the Canberra roster. He returned to Brisbane the following season before once again transferring, this time to Adelaide.

Brandon Zywicki - 2015-16 Sydney Blue Sox

I had originally assumed that because Zywicki was carrying around the Disney Frozen backpack usually assigned to the junior rookies on the team, I thought he was a local Sydney boy, however it appears that he was born in the USA. Turns out that the backpack is actually assigned to the youngest bullpen pitcher. Zywicki's time with the Sydney Blue Sox during the 2015-16 ABL season was his first in the ABL.

In 2015 Zywicki played for the Okotoks Dawgs in the Western Major Baseball League, a collegiate summer league in Canada, whilst studying at the Missouri Baptist University.

Anthony Caronia - 2015-16 Perth Heat

Caronia is an American import from the Baltimore Orioles organisation who played with the Perth Heat during the 2015-16 ABL season. In 2015 Caronia spent most of his time with the High A level Frederick Keys in the Carolina League as well as a short stint with the Norfolk Tides, the Orioles Triple A affiliate.
