Kmiecik was a bit of an American journeyman who made it onto the Canberra Cavalry roster during the 2011-12 ABL season. His career has included stints at the Southern Wesleyan University, the Normal Cornbelters of the independent Frontier League in 2010, and the Berlin Sluggers of the German Baseball-Bundesliga in 2011. This was interspersed with time playing for the Ainslie Bears in 2010-11 and 2011-12 in the ACT Baseball Association, where he caught the gaze of Cavalry staff.
